When the fairy tale goes sour, Burger King invited Price Harry and Meghan Markle to don new crowns

Brands

Firstly, should brands get involved in controversial news?

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping back as senior royals, WITHOUT missing any branding opportunity, Burger King got on the royal PR cycle and asked if they would to don a paper crown instead.

Burger King Argentina and agency HOY teamed up to create an amusing print advertisement when the royal couple decided and announced to become financially independent. A letter addressing the Duke and Duchess was printed in Clarin, one of the main newspapers of Argentina. It reads:

Dear Dukes,

If you are looking for a job, we have a new crown for you.

We found out that the Prince and Duchess decided to give up their roles in the royal family and will work to become financially independent.

So, we have a proposition for you: do as thousands of people and take the first steps in the workforce with us. You know the crown will suit you perfectly.

Also, after many years living as dukes, it is time for you to start eating like kings.

It ends with a code to scan to become Burger King employees.
